A very late week in review

The images of Sandy's destruction along the East Coast have been truly heart breaking.  It has been a reminder of how precious life is, how powerful nature can be and how strong leaders can still be every day heroes (watching Cory Booker take care of Newark has been so inspiring).  Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of those affected by the storm.

Normally we focus week in review on stories in our project countries, but this week our great country needs and deserves all the attention!

Are you looking for ways to help victims of Sandy?  This is a great resource for a breakdown of volunteers and resources needed

Would-be marathon runners board the Staten Island ferry to volunteer, the picture gives me chills

Sweet story of a cab driver reducing his rate after an eight hour drive

Out of tragic events come amazing heroes and this man who was killed after saving a family is certainly one of them

Thanks to blogger Erin Gates I learned about these FABULOUS prints of New York and New Jersey. All of the net proceeds will be donated to The Red Cross.  I just ordered one for a very special friend!

We are feeling extra grateful on this beautiful Sunday! xo, Megan and Jess
