Celebrating Fat Tuesday!

While people around the world celebrate Fat Tuesday, we at Tailored for Education are celebrating the final distribution of our uniforms for the Children of Haiti Project! Seen below are our kiddos in their new uniforms and homemade Carnival masks, looking quite adorable if we can say so! This celebration at the COHP school is put on entirely by the parents, all still living in tent camps for more than two years now.  We hope this puts a smile on your faces as it did ours ... happy Mardi Gras!

Heart of the Matter

LOVE is certainly in the air today! From red or pink cards, clothing, flowers, candy and cookies to hearts abounding (including the fabulous Hearts of Haiti I received today) LOVE is all around.  Thanks to the creation of Generosity Day, we are reminded to LOVE everyone.  This doesn't just include those who love us, those who constantly support us or those that make our days a little brighter by being there.  Generosity Day is about loving those we don't even know!

So, in the spirit of Generosity Day let's get back to the HEART of the matter and the core values of LOVE that today is all about!  Please consider helping a child you don't know by giving them a chance to receive an education!

Lots of love to all of our supporters, Megan and Jess

Seeing Red

February is synonymous with red and pink.  Whether it be on candy, cards or decorations it seems to be everywhere we look!  Why not break out the red a little early in order to create awareness for heart diesease?  That's right, tomorrow (February 3rd) is National Wear Red Day!

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women.  It kills more women than all cancers combined and is often slient, hidden or unrecognizable.  So tomorrow pull out your pretty red sweater in support of a different kind of LOVE

TOMS

Toms is certainly one of our favorite companies with their one for one shoes and sunglasses!  Hopefully, we can be one of their giving partners very soon.  In fact, Toms is already providing shoes in many of the countries where we work!  We are so excited that today they launched a line of ballet flats (those of you that know us know we LOVE a good flats)!

There is only one problem...which one to choose.....
Alessandra Burlap

Eliana Blue Suede

or perhaps the Gisele Brown Suede

I am leaning towards the Alessandra Burlap, but with all these fun colors while providing a child with a new pair of shoes, why just choose one?!  We will definitely be sporting these around the office soon!

Progress

Happy Friday Everyone!

It has been quite the week for Tailored for Education and we could not be happier about the progress we've made.  We learned a vaulable lesson this week: the power of TWITTER!

It started Monday morning with an awesome blog post from Meg (thanks again Meg).  The excitment continued through Monday night with a two tweets from celebs on the west coast (more on thatlater)!  We welcomed Tuesday with big smiles because we had received a RECORD number of donations on Monday.  I don't think we have stopped smiling since!  In addition, we had a few great conference calls and identified three new possible partnerships to help the children of Ghana, Hondurus and Kenya.  All three projects blew our minds with the amazing things these nonprofits are doing and we cannot wait to help!

Throughout the week we have reached some new milestones too; we added 100 new facebook "likes" in a week and doubled our twitter followers.  To sum it up, we get to spread our message to a lot more people!  Its been a great week and we are elated with the possibility of even better weeks ahead as we help increase the number of children in school worldwide!

To all of our supporters, new and old......THANK YOU!

Sneak Peak

In between meetings today we found a wonderful suprise in our inboxes: Dominique at the Children of Haiti Project (COHP) in Port-au-Prince sent us pictures of new uniforms for the whole school mid-production!  Thanks Dominique!

Needless to say we were so excited to catch a gilpse of the uniforms.  These pictures certainly provided us with some inspiration on this cold day!

We can't wait to tell you about all of the wonderful things going on at the COHP school and show you pictures of the children in their finished uniforms!
